The first lessons in the Montessori curriculum are Practical Life & Sensorial Exercises. These introduce the child to an independent & hands-on mode of activity & enhance the child’s concentration, a prerequisite skill for self-education.
It prepares children not just for school but for LIFE. These equip the children with basic life skills as this area of the curriculum focuses on developing skills that allow the child to effectively control and deal with the social and physical environment in which he lives.
In addition, these give the children the independence they need to function in society while focusing on the most basic life skills that children in this age group should explore.
